Tobias Osoro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Martín Palermo in the 16th minute of the match. Metal Juniors were awarded a corner in the 39th minute after Boquenses's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jonatan Dantae took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martín Palermo in the 43rd minute of play forced Boquenses's goalkeeper Tobias Osoro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martín Palermo was the one to do the kick off.
