Fausto Bortzaioriz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benny Niva in the 19th minute of play. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Shaila HC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Bernardino Rosio was slow to take the kick. During this time Celta de Virgos's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Dündar Aynacıoğlu managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. With an all-out effort, Shaila HC's Zacarias Ascencio threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Szymon Drebit, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Juli Alvarez got free with Zacarias Ascencio in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 27 played minutes Celta de Virgos got a freekick which was hit by Alexis Sanchez. Szymon Drebit blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zacarias Ascencio having to make a save. After having played for 32 minutes, Szymon Drebit managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Shaila HC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Szymon Drebit was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute Szymon Drebit shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Ascencio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Szymon Drebit in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zacarias Ascencio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A nice corner shot did that Juli Alvarez got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Zacarias Ascencio quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The crowd rose to their feet as Szymon Drebit kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zacarias Ascencio. That made the score 1-0 in the 45 minute of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Benny Niva to make the kick off. Benny Niva struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Fausto Bortzaioriz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Celta de Virgos. Zacarias Ascencio took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Teobald Zalipski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Szymon Drebit in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. When Dominic Gebuers fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Shaila HC's protests and gave Dominic Gebuers a yellow card for diving instead. After 58 played minutes Shaila HC got a freekick which was hit by Dominic Gebuers. After 64 minutes Shaila HC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Bernardino Rosio who took care of the corner kick. Bernardino Rosio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fausto Bortzaioriz having to interfere. Shaila HC's Gerardo Dantae was substituted for Szymon Drebit. Shaila HC made a substitution.
