Branislav Velchevski took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vacid Nefer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elpidio Francis in the 18th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Turgut Talha saved Club Deportivo Español from getting behind. After a rather tough play, Club Deportivo Español's Flavio Botello got a free kick in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute of the match Club Deportivo Español got a corner. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joaquin Hug ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led to Club Deportivo Español's Flavio Botello getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 24th minute of the game, Miguel Prosperi landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. 24 minutes into the game, Anthony Bonelli was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Deportivo Español's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA the free kick. A collision led to Club Deportivo Español getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Anthony Bonelli hit a great ball. ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 29th minute, when Matias Chayo scored to the left of an out of position Branislav Velchevski, making the score, 2-0. 32 minutes into the match, Club Deportivo Español's goal looked a bit too open when Elpidio Francis came free, but Turgut Talha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Anthony Bonelli hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Francis in the 36th minute of play forced Club Deportivo Español's goalkeeper Turgut Talha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Turgut Talha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arnaldo Gabon in the 41st minute of the match. The Club Deportivo Español fans cheered their team off the field, for while ESTUDIANTES de la PLATA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
