The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Enzo Rodriguez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matías Kranevitter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 8 minutes into the match, Indiana Jones dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Enzo Rodriguez, 1-0. Benjamin Tino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pascual Bernat in the 11th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Club El Progreso's Enzo Rodriguez threw himself towards the right post 12 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stephan Testaferrata Bonici, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lionel Richie in the 16th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benjamin Tino prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ernesto Guevara SyD were furious when Maximiliano Ortiz was red carded, 22 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. When Matías Kranevitter came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Club El Progreso fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Matías Kranevitter couldn't finish the play. Serafin Hernandez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Benjamin Tino tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, Club El Progreso was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anacleto Navarro to maneuver through the defense. 32 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goal looked a bit too open when Serafin Hernandez came free, but Benjamin Tino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 37 minutes into the game, Aquiles Mikolas was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ernesto Guevara SyD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club El Progreso the free kick. After 37 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ernesto Guevara SyD! Enzo Rodriguez made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Cleto Cordaro sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Matías Kranevitter in the 42nd minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After taking down the ball on Club El Progreso's corner Matías Kranevitter fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Enzo Rodriguez quite easily take care of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cleto Cordaro during the 44th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Club El Progreso getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Cleto Cordaro hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Ernesto Guevara SyD's zone, Cleto Cordaro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enzo Rodriguez came out of the goal and Cleto Cordaro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cleto Cordaro made a kick off. Serafin Hernandez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Benjamin Tino firmly grabbed it by the left post. Ernesto Guevara SyD's Beto Almada was substituted for Lionel Richie. Ernesto Guevara SyD's Marcos Tirso was substituted for Pascual Bernat. Enzo Rodriguez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matías Kranevitter in the 66th minute of play. Club El Progreso's Benjamin Tino proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Club El Progreso from getting a goal against them. Benjamin Tino made an important save on a dangerous shot by Marcos Tirso in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cleto Cordaro in the 75th minute of play forced Ernesto Guevara SyD's goalkeeper Enzo Rodriguez to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Diego Portela made in the 81st minute of the game a quick throw-in and Bonifacio Txindoki immediately put the ball in play. 83 minutes into the match, Club El Progreso's goalkeeper Benjamin Tino had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcos Tirso. 85 minutes into the match, Ernesto Guevara SyD's Marcos Tirso broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 91st minute, Ernesto Guevara SyD's Marcos Tirso ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Benjamin Tino. Benjamin Tino yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. The Ernesto Guevara SyD supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ernesto Guevara SyD would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
