Gabriele Batistuta ran back to his position shaking his head. 13 minutes into the match, Pan FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Quirce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gabriele Batistuta. The audience was convinced that Ambrosio Opilano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Camilo Salvidor was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. After 38 played minutes Pan FC got a freekick which was hit by Beltrán De Filippo. In the 41st minute Gabriele Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastian Quirce saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 43 minutes into the match, Menchu FC's goal looked a bit too open when Arnaldo Urtzi came free, but Camilo Salvidor reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto Bakar in the 75th minute of play forced Menchu FC's goalkeeper Camilo Salvidor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Quirce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gaston Firmo in the 76th minute of the match. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
