Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Weybridge's Francis Trotter started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Carl Moyle came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Weybridge fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carl Moyle couldn't finish the play. Connor Leadbeater fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barney Simms having to interfere. Barney Simms made an important save on a dangerous shot by Verne Plumber in the 17th minute. If Carl Moyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 24th match minute, Scawsby was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Bacon to maneuver through the defense. Stuart Freeman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Barney Simms tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Carl Moyle had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ed Burgess sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Francis Trotter fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Weeks having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Stuart Freeman was the one to do the kick off. In the 64th minute, Nicky Rushforth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Duncan Weeks was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Joey Gibbs. 70 minutes had been played when some careless play by Weybridge's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Piers Bond was slow to take the kick. During this time Scawsby's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Scawsby's corner Piers Bond fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Barney Simms quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 73 minutes, Joey Gibbs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Weybridge's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joey Gibbs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carl Moyle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Duncan Weeks made a huge save. Stuart Freeman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Verne Plumber got free in front of the goal in the 86th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Barney Simms was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Carl Moyle got free with Duncan Weeks in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Scawsby's Duncan Weeks proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Scawsby from getting a goal against them. Carl Moyle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Duncan Weeks came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by Weybridge's Carl Moyle. But to his dismay, Carl Moyle quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Weybridge's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
