Eston's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Southam City the free kick. Guy Graydon hit a great ball. Den Westwood showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Graydon, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Johnny Borrowdale kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. If Kieran Clark had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Sean Edison to make the kick off. Guy Graydon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 61st minute Kieran Clark shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Den Westwood saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A hard shot 70 in the game by Micheal Ricketts from a close distance when the talented Malcolm Osborn managed to make a qualified save. Southam City's players were relieved. Malcolm Osborn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Edison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Des Holden hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. Micheal Rickettss short, quick shot in the 77thth minute got Malcolm Osborn to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Den Westwood showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guy Graydon in the 78th minute of the match. Southam City's Malcolm Osborn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 80th minute of the match, managed to save Southam City from getting a goal against them. Guy Graydon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Den Westwood tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Eston's goalkeeper Den Westwood, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After having played for 89 minutes, Des Holden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Southam City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Des Holden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Micheal Ricketts recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
