Jasper Sissons showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Will Brown, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. Hastings's Dylon Haxby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shaun Nethercoat in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Keiran Boxall left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Somivac fc fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 31 minutes into the match, Shaun Nethercoat dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Dylon Haxby, 2-0. After having played for 43 minutes, Shaun Nethercoat managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Somivac fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shaun Nethercoat was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 44th minute Shaun Nethercoat shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dylon Haxby saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 48th minute, Shaun Nethercoat hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Connor Bakewell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hastings's Dylon Haxby played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Keiran Boxall in the 60th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Connor Bakewell fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Will Brown sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 72 in the game by Will Brown from a close distance when the talented Jasper Sissons managed to make a qualified save. Somivac fc's players were relieved. If Will Brown had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 77 minutes into the match, Somivac fc's Shaun Nethercoat sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dylon Haxby narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes into the game, Thomas Chandler was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Somivac fc's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hastings the free kick. In the 78th match minute, Somivac fc was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thomas Chandler to maneuver through the defense. If Connor Bakewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Connor Bakewell managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hastings's supporters rose to their feet, but Connor Bakewell was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jasper Sissons breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Somivac fc fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hastings had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
