The supporters of Cowley booed when Walter was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thom Blake didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cowley's Rowan Jones shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 5th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Mattias Mayo but with some difficulty. In the 8th minute, Damion Newman fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Mattias Mayo, passed just outside the right post. Mattias Mayo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Damion Newman in the 9th minute of play. Austen Pallister blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Mattias Mayo having to make a save. Damion Newman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Mayo having to interfere. Austen Pallister fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mattias Mayo having to interfere. Damion Newman struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Mattias Mayo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cowley. Ash Wooding's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ashley Delamore read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. If Daryl Baker had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

After 52 minutes, Daryl Baker mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Walter and the Cowley players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd minute, Daryl Baker hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Daryl Baker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Walter were furious when Ollie Sawyer was red carded, 84 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 88th minute, Thom Blake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. It was beautiful to see Cowley's Rowan Jones in action when he in the 89th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Daryl Baker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 98th minute. Ashley Delamore tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cowley fans cheered their team off the field, for while Walter had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
