Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 2000, VIP seats: 0) Walter's Daryl Baker started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ted Greenfield received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 2nd minute. Mattias Mayo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damon Metcalf was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 10th minute. Hook's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Ted Greenfield had several of the Walter's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 12 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Mattias Mayo as he didn't even see the shot coming. Hook's Ted Greenfield got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 21 minutes in the game, Damon Metcalf dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. Daryl Baker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Henry Dunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dominic Hallam kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Damon Metcalf got free with Mattias Mayo in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Ted Greenfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ted Greenfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mattias Mayo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ted Greenfield, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ash Wooding received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Henry Dunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute Ash Wooding shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henry Dunn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 41 played minutes Walter got a freekick which was hit by Vincent Page. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ted Greenfield in the 44th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Mattias Mayo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 45 minutes, Ted Greenfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hook's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ted Greenfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the match, Hook's Damon Metcalf sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mattias Mayo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The wind increased when Ted Greenfield made the kick off in the second half. Daryl Baker received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 55th minute. Henry Dunn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Thom Blake fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Walter's protests and gave Thom Blake a yellow card for diving instead. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 57th minute of the game. One of Walter:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Hook:s goal. 65 minutes into the game, Ted Greenfield cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Mattias Mayo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Daryl Baker managed to get in a good position for a shot. Walter's supporters rose to their feet, but Daryl Baker was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henry Dunn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ash Wooding kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Kelvin Goodman, 72 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Hook's Damon Metcalf got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Daryl Baker came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Walter fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daryl Baker couldn't finish the play. Dominic Hallam charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dominic Hallam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 played minutes Hook got a freekick which was hit by Dominic Hallam.
