Damion Barkley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner de Lara having to interfere. After 5 minutes of play, Dakar Olympique's Graeme Tinker made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Doug Sutton was left in no man's land by his defense there! 9 minutes into the match, Defense's goal looked a bit too open when Graeme Tinker came free, but Doug Sutton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Doug Sutton didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geoff Vassell went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Graeme Tinker took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Doug Sutton. Doug Sutton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Doug Sutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Keiran Woodyat in the 16th minute of play. Kris Upson scored 0-4 in the 17th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Doug Sutton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Vágner de Lara made a fantastic save in the 31st minute, when Eddie Bryant sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lee Hislop in the 37th minute of play forced Defense's goalkeeper Doug Sutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Graeme Tinker had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Doug Sutton. Defense's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Graeme Tinker was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-7. The Defense players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Dakar Olympique were winning 0-8.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eddie Bryant to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lee Hislop got free with Doug Sutton in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Doug Sutton didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 57th minute, which inside left pole to 0-9. Kris Upson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 60thth minute, Doug Sutton skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Kris Upson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Doug Sutton came out and tried to block the shot, but Kris Upson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-10 in the 62nd minute. Doug Sutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Graeme Tinker in the 67th minute of play. Defense's Doug Sutton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Graeme Tinker in the 69th minute of play. In the 70th minute, Graeme Tinker left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dakar Olympique fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-11. After a rather tough play, Defense's Damion Barkley got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 78 minutes into the match, Defense's goalkeeper Doug Sutton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lee Hislop. In the 79th minute Graeme Tinker shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Doug Sutton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Doug Sutton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Keiran Woodyat in the 80th minute of the match. In the 84th minute, Dakar Olympique's Geoff Vassell ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Doug Sutton. Doug Sutton yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-13. Kris Upson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Doug Sutton came out and tried to block the shot, but Kris Upson slotted it home off the left post making it 0-14 in the 89th minute. 93 minutes into the game, Dakar Olympique's Lee Hislop nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Doug Sutton made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-15. 98 minutes into the match, Dakar Olympique's Graeme Tinker sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Doug Sutton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Defense fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Dakar Olympique were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
