Hólmgeir Hermansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dór Lúðvíksson having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Hólmgeir Hermansson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dór Lúðvíksson was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 34th minute of the match, Rafn Böðvarsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Friðvin Sigfastsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Ásmar Logason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dór Lúðvíksson having to interfere. Svafar Þorbergsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Svafar Þorbergsson came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the FC Ísjaki fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Svafar Þorbergsson couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Rafn Böðvarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Virka Kópavogi's supporters rose to their feet, but Rafn Böðvarsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Friðvin Sigfastsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gautviður Granason's late challenge caught a Virka Kópavogi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gautviður Granason helped the player get up and apologised. Gautviður Granason hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.
After having played for 54 minutes, Vígþór Olgeirsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC Ísjaki's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vígþór Olgeirsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Vígþór Olgeirsson in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dór Lúðvíksson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 57th match minute, FC Ísjaki was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gautviður Granason to maneuver through the defense. Sandri Dagfinnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Friðvin Sigfastsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Valentín Fanngeirsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Hólmgeir Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. Gautviður Granason ran back to his position shaking his head. After having played for 88 minutes, Gautviður Granason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dór Lúðvíksson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gautviður Granason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
