In the 35th minute Kristgeir Hlynsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúðvík Ævarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lúðvík Ævarsson made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Gýgjar Hafbergsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 45th minute Kristgeir Hlynsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúðvík Ævarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Allan Júlíusson got free with Lúðvík Ævarsson in the 47th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kristgeir Hlynsson to make the kick off. Jómundur Guðfinnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Allan Júlíusson might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lúðvík Ævarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Allan Júlíusson ran back to his position shaking his head. 60 minutes into the match, Ensku Gaflarnir's goal looked a bit too open when Kristgeir Hlynsson came free, but Lúðvík Ævarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ásólfur Oddmarsson hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Einvarður Ljótsson made a precise shot to the right of Lúðvík Ævarsson. Ensku Gaflarnir's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. After 73 minutes of play, Fákanes Grímsey's Kristgeir Hlynsson made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lúðvík Ævarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lúðvík Ævarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kristgeir Hlynsson in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute, Allan Júlíusson made a precise shot to the right of Lúðvík Ævarsson. Ensku Gaflarnir's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Fákanes Grímsey fully deserved thier win.
