Aðalsteinn Búason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reifnir Unnarsson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Askur Vilhjálmsson came out of the goal in the 10th minute to try and stop a shot by Nova Flateyri's Geirfinnur Guðleifsson. But to his dismay, Geirfinnur Guðleifsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. A collision led to Litlu Uglurnar getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Hallvarður Álfgrímsson hit a great ball. Finngeir Gunnlaugsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Askur Vilhjálmsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 29 minutes of play, Nova Flateyri's Finngeir Gunnlaugsson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Askur Vilhjálmsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 32nd minute, Nova Flateyri's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Aðalsteinn Búason fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Aðalsteinn Búason could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Hrafnbergur Eiríksson made a huge save. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aðalsteinn Búason in the 42nd minute. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

In the 54th match minute, Nova Flateyri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Finngeir Gunnlaugsson to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aðalsteinn Búason in the 56th minute of play forced Nova Flateyri's goalkeeper Hrafnbergur Eiríksson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Reifnir Unnarsson hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. Svali Steinsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Geirfinnur Guðleifsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Askur Vilhjálmsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geirfinnur Guðleifsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Nova Flateyri's Geirfinnur Guðleifsson got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 76 minutes, Aðalsteinn Búason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Litlu Uglurnar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Aðalsteinn Búason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Hrafnbergur Eiríksson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aðalsteinn Búason, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. When Reifnir Unnarsson was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 88 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Nova Flateyri's Reifnir Unnarsson got a free kick in the 88th minute. Finngeir Gunnlaugsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 94th minute of the match Eldgrímur Hannibalsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Askur Vilhjálmsson skillfully saved the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Nova Flateyri walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
