The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Hildigeir Snæsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 45th minute, Ingmar Ásvaldsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 45 played minutes Mottó Eskifirði got a freekick which was hit by Svali Hinriksson. Harald Arnarson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sturlaugur Einvarðsson having to interfere. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Harald Arnarson was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, Mottó Eskifirði's Rósinberg Hrútsson got a free kick in the 51st minute. A collision led to Mottó Eskifirði getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Svali Hinriksson hit a great ball. Mottó Eskifirði's Sturlaugur Einvarðsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ingmar Ásvaldsson in the 57th minute of play. Hildigeir Snæsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hildigeir Snæsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frans Dagþórsson in the 77th minute. Hildigeir Snæsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Georg Sveinsson in the 78th minute of play. In the 80th minute of the game, Örlaugur Þórsson landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. After 80 minutes, Svali Hinriksson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mottó Eskifirði and the Köldu Tröllin players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 81st minute, Svali Hinriksson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 82nd minute, Hávarður Bjarnason sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mottó Eskifirði's Sturlaugur Einvarðsson didn't even have to move. In the 94th minute of the match, Georg Sveinsson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Hildigeir Snæsson saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line.
