Bessi Sigbertsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ráðgeir Jóhannesson, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. 4 minutes into the match, Rafverk Flatey's goal looked a bit too open when Ósvaldur Franklínsson came free, but Bessi Sigbertsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ósvaldur Franklínsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bessi Sigbertsson having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Helgi Þorgerisson made a precise shot to the right of Oddmar Davíðsson. Hellas Vogum's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Bessi Sigbertsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hringur Hafbergsson's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ráðgeir Jóhannesson to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Rafverk Flatey's goalkeeper Bessi Sigbertsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ósvaldur Franklínsson. Bessi Sigbertsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ráðgeir Jóhannesson in the 55th minute of play. Helgi Þorgerisson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Tór Svangeirsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 72nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Oddmar Davíðsson. Hellas Vogum's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 91st match minute, Rafverk Flatey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jón Hannesson to maneuver through the defense. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rafverk Flatey fans cheered their team off the field, for while Hellas Vogum had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
