Vakt Vogum's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Herlaugur Bjargmundarson 26 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. Höður Ketilsson made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Sebastían Knútsson sent off a good shot on target. Herlaugur Bjargmundarson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Höður Ketilsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Herlaugur Bjargmundarson slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 31st minute. Bjarnþór Runólfsson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Höður Ketilsson having to make a save. Sebastían Knútsson took the ball and in the 38 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Höður Ketilsson. Höður Ketilsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. In the 41st minute Bjarnþór Runólfsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Höður Ketilsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 42 minutes, Arthúr Hreiðarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Vakt Vogum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arthúr Hreiðarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, STJ Ísland's goal looked a bit too open when Arthúr Hreiðarsson came free, but Skírnir Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 45 minutes, Sebastían Knútsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. STJ Ísland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sebastían Knútsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Höður Ketilsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Herlaugur Bjargmundarson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Herlaugur Bjargmundarson was the one to do the kick off. Herlaugur Bjargmundarson scored 4-0 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Höður Ketilsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arthúr Hreiðarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Skírnir Pálmason having to interfere. Vatnar Andrésson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Skírnir Pálmason having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Enok Hrolleifsson made a precise shot to the right of Höður Ketilsson. Vakt Vogum's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. 75 minutes into the match, Herlaugur Bjargmundarson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Höður Ketilsson. Vakt Vogum's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Herlaugur Bjargmundarson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-0. Höður Ketilsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herlaugur Bjargmundarson, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Vélaugur Borgþórsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Skírnir Pálmason came out and tried to block the shot, but Vélaugur Borgþórsson slotted it home off the left post making it 6-1 in the 89th minute. Arthúr Hreiðarsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Skírnir Pálmason read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 94th minute of play. Höður Ketilsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Herlaugur Bjargmundarson, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. The STJ Ísland support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
