After a rather tough play, Hörður's Holgeir Gunnsteinsson got a free kick in the 20th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Herbjörn Hafþórsson during the 22nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 23 minutes into the match, Gimli Flúðum's Kjallakur Björgvinsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gellir Hilmarsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Gellir Hilmarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kjallakur Björgvinsson in the 90th minute of play. Ævarr Böðvarsson scored 1-1 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hersir Hrútsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The Gimli Flúðum players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Hörður from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
