Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Eggert Leifsson got the match started through his kick off. 3 minutes into the match, Eggert Leifsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Reynir Geirsson, 1-0. With his leg Reynir Geirsson managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Grænu Tófurnar's Sæmann Almarsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Sæmann Almarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Reynir Geirsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Sæmann Almarsson went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hergill Hallbjörnsson during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Kópavör Flúðum getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Hergill Hallbjörnsson hit a great ball. Kópavör Flúðum's Reynir Geirsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eggert Leifsson in the 23rd minute of play. When Adólf Harðarsson came up free with the goalie in the 25th minute, the Kópavör Flúðum fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adólf Harðarsson couldn't finish the play. After having played for 30 minutes, Dalmar Atlason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Kópavör Flúðum's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalmar Atlason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 36th minute, Eggert Leifsson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Reynir Geirsson, passed just outside the right post. Eggert Leifsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Reynir Geirsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sæmann Almarsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Reynir Geirsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Eggert Leifsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynir Geirsson having to interfere. In the 44th minute, Sæmann Almarsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Grænu Tófurnar fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kristvaldur Margrímsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Kristvaldur Margrímsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eggert Leifsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Eggert Leifsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Reynir Geirsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Kristvaldur Margrímsson fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Reynir Geirsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sæmann Almarsson in the 68th minute of play. The audience thought it was a sure goal in the 72nd minute, when Kópavör Flúðum's Dalmar Atlason after having done a great run through the defense got himself free with Ingvaldur Aðalmundsson in Grænu Tófurnar's goal and fired away a shot, but it missed the goal by a fraction of an inch. 76 minutes into the match, Grænu Tófurnar's goalkeeper Ingvaldur Aðalmundsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Adólf Harðarsson. Eggert Leifsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Reynir Geirsson having to interfere. Sæmann Almarsson struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Reynir Geirsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grænu Tófurnar. Kópavör Flúðum's Reynir Geirsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eggert Leifsson in the 91st minute of play. When Dýrmundur Þórsson fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Kópavör Flúðum's protests and gave Dýrmundur Þórsson a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Grænu Tófurnar booed when Kópavör Flúðum was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dýrmundur Þórsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After recieving a nice pass, Grænu Tófurnar's Nóni Sigfastsson tried to score from far away in the 93rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. 96 minutes into the match, Kópavör Flúðum's goal looked a bit too open when Sæmann Almarsson came free, but Reynir Geirsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the Kópavör Flúðum players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Grænu Tófurnar.
