Hnoss Grímsey's Sigurbjarni Laufarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hlér Baldvinsson in the 9th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Kjallakur Björgvinsson notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Hnoss Grímsey's Sigurbjarni Laufarsson. Sigurbjarni Laufarsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Sigurbjarni Laufarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hjálmar Ernirsson in the 15th minute of play. Sófónías Finnlaugsson kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. After having played for 22 minutes, Varmar Gunnsteinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hnoss Grímsey's supporters crossed their fingers, but Varmar Gunnsteinsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 30 minutes into the match, Hnoss Grímsey's goal looked a bit too open when Hlér Baldvinsson came free, but Sigurbjarni Laufarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Hnoss Grímsey defense, Hlér Baldvinsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sigurbjarni Laufarsson. The Hnoss Grímsey fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sigurbjarni Laufarsson should have stopped the shot. Sigurbjarni Laufarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjallakur Björgvinsson in the 43rd minute of the match. Sigurbjarni Laufarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Númi Sturluson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Hnoss Grímsey's zone, Hjálmar Ernirsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sigurbjarni Laufarsson came out of the goal and Hjálmar Ernirsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

51 minutes into the match, Hnoss Grímsey's goalkeeper Sigurbjarni Laufarsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Númi Sturluson. After some fancy dribbling in the 60th minute, Varmar Gunnsteinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hnoss Grímsey's supporters rose to their feet, but Varmar Gunnsteinsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hersir Hrútsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Hallberg Óskarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valentínus Viðarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Sigurbjarni Laufarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kjallakur Björgvinsson in the 66th minute of the match. Jói Hallmundsson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 69th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Hnoss Grímsey's Sigurbjarni Laufarsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Hnoss Grímsey from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Hnoss Grímsey's Sigurbjarni Laufarsson got control of the ball when Hjálmar Ernirsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 73rd minute, Kjallakur Björgvinsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Brynþór Ingmarsson fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Hnoss Grímsey's protests and gave Brynþór Ingmarsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 74th minute, Brynþór Ingmarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 77th minute the ball was on its way in behind Hnoss Grímsey's goalkeeper Sigurbjarni Laufarsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Varmar Gunnsteinsson took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hersir Hrútsson. Hersir Hrútsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3. Kjallakur Björgvinsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sigurbjarni Laufarsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 88th minute of play. Hnoss Grímsey's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kjallakur Björgvinsson 90 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-4. After a rather tough play, Hnoss Grímsey's Benjamín Róbertsson got a free kick in the 95th minute. The long shot by Jói Hallmundsson in the 96th minute really tested Sigurbjarni Laufarsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
