Ævarr Böðvarsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 91stth minute tested the skills of Reynir Geirsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 95th minute, Adólf Harðarsson made a precise shot to the right of Gellir Hilmarsson. Hörður's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Kópavör Flúðum had won after a very even match.
