A very good chance. 12 minutes into the match, Gömlu Skordýrin's goal looked a bit too open when Sigurbaldur Júlíusson came free, but Rósar Þorrason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rafnar Kjartansson came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by Gömlu Skordýrin's Dvalinn Valbergsson. But to his dismay, Dvalinn Valbergsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Rafnar Kjartansson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dvalinn Valbergsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 26th minute Dvalinn Valbergsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rafnar Kjartansson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dvalinn Valbergsson in the 32nd minute of play forced Þráinn Selfossi's goalkeeper Rafnar Kjartansson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Dvalinn Valbergsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gömlu Skordýrin's supporters rose to their feet, but Dvalinn Valbergsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rafnar Kjartansson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Þráinn Selfossi's Rafnar Kjartansson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Örn Björgólfsson in the 36th minute of play. When Sigurgísli Baldursson came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Gömlu Skordýrin fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigurgísli Baldursson couldn't finish the play. Dvalinn Valbergsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Rafnar Kjartansson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 52nd minute, Dvalinn Valbergsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rafnar Kjartansson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Sigurgísli Baldursson in the 54th minute. Þráinn Selfossi's Rafnar Kjartansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Þráinn Selfossi from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute, Gömlu Skordýrin's Örn Björgólfsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Rafnar Kjartansson. Rafnar Kjartansson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. 69 minutes into the match, Þráinn Selfossi's goalkeeper Rafnar Kjartansson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dvalinn Valbergsson. Rósar Þorrason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gunnólfur Smárason, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. With a little luck, Þráinn Selfossi's Rafnar Kjartansson got control of the ball when Dvalinn Valbergsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Þráinn Selfossi booed when Gömlu Skordýrin was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 75 match minutes in a wonderful position. Auðbert Jafetsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sigurbaldur Júlíusson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Rósar Þorrason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Auðbert Jafetsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rafnar Kjartansson having to interfere. Rafnar Kjartansson came out of the goal in the 85th minute to try and stop a shot by Gömlu Skordýrin's Örn Björgólfsson. But to his dismay, Örn Björgólfsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. Örn Björgólfssons short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Rafnar Kjartansson to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Þráinn Selfossi's Rafnar Kjartansson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save Þráinn Selfossi from getting a goal against them.
