Seating: 1780, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Ríkharður Ketilsson got the match started through his kick off. In the 3rd minute Gunnólfur Víkingsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steinmar Þorkelsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 7 minutes into the match, Ríkharður Ketilsson notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Gná Borgarfirði's Steinmar Þorkelsson. Steinmar Þorkelsson was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Steinmar Þorkelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gunnólfur Víkingsson in the 10th minute of play. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Gná Borgarfirði's goal looked a bit too open when Gunnólfur Víkingsson came free, but Steinmar Þorkelsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gunnólfur Víkingsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ríkharður Ketilsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 28th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 37th minute, Lúther Olgeirsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jörgen Pálmarsson in the 39thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Valbergur Kormáksson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ríkharður Ketilsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Steinmar Þorkelsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 45th minute of play. Ríkharður Ketilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steinmar Þorkelsson having to interfere.
The wind increased when Auðbjörn Hlöðversson made the kick off in the second half. Ríkharður Ketilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 54 minutes into the game, Brimar Konráðsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gná Borgarfirði's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Regis Kópavogi the free kick. Brimar Konráðsson hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Gunnólfur Víkingsson took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Steinmar Þorkelsson. Steinmar Þorkelsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Steinmar Þorkelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ríkharður Ketilsson in the 62nd minute of the match. A collision led to Gná Borgarfirði getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Kristófer Helgason hit a great ball. After having played for 65 minutes, Ríkharður Ketilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Regis Kópavogi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ríkharður Ketilsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ríkharður Ketilsson in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steinmar Þorkelsson saved Gná Borgarfirði from getting behind. Gunnólfur Víkingsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steinmar Þorkelsson having to interfere. Ríkharður Ketilsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Auðbjörn Hlöðversson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Auðbjörn Hlöðversson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valbergur Kormáksson having to interfere. Lúther Olgeirsson kicked well hit freekick during the 94th minute of the match. In the 95th minute, Ríkharður Ketilsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match was over Regis Kópavogi could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Gná Borgarfirði throughout the match.
