Baldvin Ellertsson started the match with the kick off. Jenni Randversson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Jesper Ásbergsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Keflavik's Barði Arinbjörnsson got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 8 minutes, Barði Arinbjörnsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Keflavik and the Útherji Súðavík players grew even worse after the yellow card. Barði Arinbjörnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Hervarður Sveinlaugsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ársæll Hamarsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hervarður Sveinlaugsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Ársæll Hamarsson was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Elbert Friðbertsson. Sólbjörn Þorrason might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jesper Ásbergsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sólbjörn Þorrason ran back to his position shaking his head. When Sólbjörn Þorrason came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Útherji Súðavík fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sólbjörn Þorrason couldn't finish the play. After some careless play in the Keflavik defense, Sólbjörn Þorrason kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jesper Ásbergsson. The Keflavik fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jesper Ásbergsson should have stopped the shot. In the 28th match minute, Keflavik was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barði Arinbjörnsson to maneuver through the defense. When Kristþór Kristbergsson came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Útherji Súðavík fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kristþór Kristbergsson couldn't finish the play. With his leg Ársæll Hamarsson managed to avoid a goal in the 35thth minute, when Keflavik's Hervarður Sveinlaugsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Barði Arinbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jenni Randversson was the one to do the kick off. In the 54th minute of the match Útherji Súðavík got a corner. Keflavik's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Arnviður Logason ran over to the corner to take the kick. Hervarður Sveinlaugsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Ársæll Hamarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 65 minutes of play, Útherji Súðavík's Jenni Randversson made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jesper Ásbergsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ársæll Hamarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Baldvin Ellertsson in the 70th minute of the match. In the 71st match minute, Útherji Súðavík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sæbjörn Bergþórsson to maneuver through the defense. If Baldvin Ellertsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sólbjörn Þorrason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesper Ásbergsson having to interfere. After having played for 80 minutes, Sólbjörn Þorrason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Útherji Súðavík's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sólbjörn Þorrason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jenni Randversson struck a weak shot in the 82nd minute. Jesper Ásbergsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Útherji Súðavík. Ársæll Hamarsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hervarður Sveinlaugsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Hervarður Sveinlaugsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Útherji Súðavík played a much better game than Keflavik and deserved their victory. The Keflavik players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
