The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Barði Arinbjörnsson during the 6th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Keflavik getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Barði Arinbjörnsson hit a great ball. After 8 played minutes Keflavik got a freekick which was hit by Smári Ævarsson. After a defensive mix-up in Vernd Þórshöfn's zone, Hervarður Sveinlaugsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jörvar Gíslason came out of the goal and Hervarður Sveinlaugsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Hallberg Másson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Jesper Ásbergsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hróðvar Nikulásarson during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hervarður Sveinlaugsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jörvar Gíslason having to interfere. Jesper Ásbergsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Þiðrandi Bergmansson in the 27th minute of play. Vernd Þórshöfn's Jörvar Gíslason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hervarður Sveinlaugsson in the 30th minute of play. Hallberg Másson was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 33rd minute. Vernd Þórshöfn's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldvin Ellertsson in the 40th minute of play forced Vernd Þórshöfn's goalkeeper Jörvar Gíslason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Baldvin Ellertsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jörvar Gíslason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Hervarður Sveinlaugsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jörvar Gíslason was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Þiðrandi Bergmansson to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Hallberg Másson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jesper Ásbergsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Hallberg Másson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Loftur Guðbjörnsson hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Barði Arinbjörnsson kicked well hit freekick during the 72nd minute of the match. After 73 played minutes, Vernd Þórshöfn's Sindri Oddsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jesper Ásbergsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Vernd Þórshöfn reached it. Hallberg Másson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Jesper Ásbergsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Þiðrandi Bergmansson struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Jesper Ásbergsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Vernd Þórshöfn. Keflavik's Jesper Ásbergsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Loftur Guðbjörnsson in the 84th minute of play. Hallberg Másson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jesper Ásbergsson having to interfere. 90 minutes into the game, Vernd Þórshöfn's Þiðrandi Bergmansson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jesper Ásbergsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 93rd minute, Demus Eyvindarson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vernd Þórshöfn's Þiðrandi Bergmansson got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Vernd Þórshöfn booed when Keflavik was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barði Arinbjörnsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
