Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hyltir Arnbergsson in the 4th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eðvar Reimarsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 5 minutes, Skírnir Guðbjartsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ýmus Suðureyri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Skírnir Guðbjartsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ýmus Suðureyri's Hyltir Arnbergsson got a good chance for a goal in the 7th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson struck a weak shot in the 12th minute. Steinvarður Karelsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Strata Bæ. Ýmus Suðureyri's Steinvarður Karelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulrich Hrafnsson in the 18th minute of play. A hard shot 24 in the game by Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson from a close distance when the talented Steinvarður Karelsson managed to make a qualified save. Ýmus Suðureyri's players were relieved. Ýmus Suðureyri's Hyltir Arnbergsson got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Ingjaldur Jónsteinsson fell near the penalty area in the 31st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ýmus Suðureyri's protests and gave Ingjaldur Jónsteinsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 31st match minute, Ýmus Suðureyri was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ingjaldur Jónsteinsson to maneuver through the defense. If Ulrich Hrafnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Strata Bæ booed when Ýmus Suðureyri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Skírnir Guðbjartsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ingjaldur Jónsteinsson hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, Strata Bæ's Willard Guðmarsson tried to score from far away in the 37th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After having played for 41 minutes, Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Strata Bæ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eðvar Reimarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Ýmus Suðureyri booed when Strata Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Þorgarður Sigfastsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Hyltir Arnbergsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ulrich Hrafnsson to strike the kick off in the second half. When Strata Bæ's Ulrich Hrafnsson in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ýmus Suðureyri's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 64 minutes, Skírnir Guðbjartsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Steinvarður Karelsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Strata Bæ getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Gizur Baldursson hit a great ball. When Strata Bæ's Ulrich Hrafnsson in the 73rd minute got a chance for a shot 73rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ýmus Suðureyri's goalie prevented a goal. After a defensive mix-up in Ýmus Suðureyri's zone, Ulrich Hrafnsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Steinvarður Karelsson came out of the goal and Ulrich Hrafnsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Strata Bæ's Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Steinvarður Karelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ulrich Hrafnsson in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute, Willard Guðmarsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Steinvarður Karelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson in the 87th minute of the match. Ýmus Suðureyri's Steinvarður Karelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson in the 90th minute of play. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Steinvarður Karelsson having to interfere. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 98th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Strata Bæ had played much better football throughout.
