The supporters of Strata Bæ booed when Dalur Djúpivogi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erpur Garðarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 5 minutes into the match, Dalur Djúpivogi's goal looked a bit too open when Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson came free, but Októvíus Hálfdánsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 6 minutes into the game, Grettir Reyrsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Strata Bæ's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dalur Djúpivogi the free kick. In the 6th minute, Grettir Reyrsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ulrich Hrafnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Snjólfur Guðmundsson got free with Eðvar Reimarsson in the 15th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Októvíus Hálfdánsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fannberg Gestsson hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. 42 minutes had been played when some careless play by Strata Bæ's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Múli Játmundsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Dalur Djúpivogi's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Dalur Djúpivogi's corner Múli Játmundsson fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eðvar Reimarsson quite easily take care of the ball. Erpur Garðarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when Erpur Garðarsson made the kick off in the second half. Snjólfur Guðmundsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Eðvar Reimarsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Dalur Djúpivogi booed when Strata Bæ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Finnur Hallsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Strata Bæ's zone, Snjólfur Guðmundsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eðvar Reimarsson came out of the goal and Snjólfur Guðmundsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erpur Garðarsson in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eðvar Reimarsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ulrich Hrafnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Októvíus Hálfdánsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Októvíus Hálfdánsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson in the 60th minute of play. Dalur Djúpivogi's Októvíus Hálfdánsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Dalur Djúpivogi from getting a goal against them. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 66th minute of the match, but Októvíus Hálfdánsson made a huge save. After 67 played minutes Dalur Djúpivogi got a freekick which was hit by Þeyr Kolsson. In the 68th minute the ball was on its way in behind Dalur Djúpivogi's goalkeeper Októvíus Hálfdánsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 70th minute, Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Strata Bæ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Októvíus Hálfdánsson made a huge save. After 76 minutes, Þeyr Kolsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dalur Djúpivogi and the Strata Bæ players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 76 played minutes Dalur Djúpivogi got a freekick which was hit by Þeyr Kolsson. If Ulrich Hrafnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geirfinnur Sveinþórsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Októvíus Hálfdánsson having to interfere. 82 minutes into the game, Ulrich Hrafnsson lined in a short shot 0-3 behind a frustrated Októvíus Hálfdánsson. Eðvar Reimarsson came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Dalur Djúpivogi's Erpur Garðarsson. But to his dismay, Erpur Garðarsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpected shot in the 89th minute by Ulrich Hrafnsson got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Ulrich Hrafnsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Októvíus Hálfdánsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Strata Bæ's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
