Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Hallur Pétursson started the match with the kick off. Herfinnur Boðason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hallur Pétursson, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Maraþon Bæ's Hallur Pétursson got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Maraþon Bæ's Víkingur Pálmason got control of the ball when Kristlaugur Steinsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. Grettir Sigfússon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Víkingur Pálmason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kristlaugur Steinsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víkingur Pálmason having to interfere. With a little luck, Maraþon Bæ's Víkingur Pálmason got control of the ball when Kristlaugur Steinsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 24 minutes into the match, Maraþon Bæ's goal looked a bit too open when Kristlaugur Steinsson came free, but Víkingur Pálmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 26th minute by Grettir Sigfússon got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Grettir Sigfússon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Víkingur Pálmason having to interfere. Kristlaugur Steinsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 29thth minute tested the skills of Víkingur Pálmason when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 31 minutes into the match, Greind Þórshöfn's goal looked a bit too open when Hallur Pétursson came free, but Herfinnur Boðason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 37th minute, Hallur Pétursson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Herfinnur Boðason was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heiðlindur Unnarsson in the 43rd minute of play forced Greind Þórshöfn's goalkeeper Herfinnur Boðason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the match, Heiðlindur Unnarsson notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Greind Þórshöfn's Herfinnur Boðason. Herfinnur Boðason was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Greind Þórshöfn's Herfinnur Boðason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hólmsteinn Árnason in the 51st minute of play. Grettir Sigfússon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Víkingur Pálmason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grettir Sigfússon in the 58th minute of the match. When Hljómur Erlendsson fell near the penalty area in the 64th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Maraþon Bæ's protests and gave Hljómur Erlendsson a yellow card for diving instead. Hljómur Erlendsson kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Hallur Pétursson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Herfinnur Boðason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hallur Pétursson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Víkingur Pálmason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Grettir Sigfússon, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After 75 played minutes Maraþon Bæ got a freekick which was hit by Hólmsteinn Árnason. After 78 minutes of play, Greind Þórshöfn's Kristlaugur Steinsson made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Víkingur Pálmason was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 82nd minute, Hallur Pétursson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Hallur Pétursson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Herfinnur Boðason. That made the score 2-3 in the 85 minute of play. Hljómur Erlendsson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 98th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Herfinnur Boðason. Greind Þórshöfn's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The Maraþon Bæ players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
