Njáll Skaptason came out of the goal and Ævarr Hænsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Njáll Skaptason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dúi Alexandersson, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Geirmundur Viðarsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Njáll Skaptason. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Geirmundur Viðarsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Grundaval's Njáll Skaptason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Benedikt Ákason in the 36th minute of play. Benedikt Ákason sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eldur Ósvaldsson during the 40th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 40th match minute, Grundaval was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eldur Ósvaldsson to maneuver through the defense. Njáll Skaptason made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After the first half Elgur Kjörvogi were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Geirmundur Viðarsson to make the kick off. After 56 minutes of play, Grundaval's Garðar Halldórsson made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ásgeir Snæfinnsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of Elgur Kjörvogi booed when Grundaval was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eldur Ósvaldsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute, Dúi Alexandersson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Númi Þormóðsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70thth minute of the game Benedikt Ákason who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Grundaval's Njáll Skaptason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Grundaval's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garðar Halldórsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 83 minutes into the game, Steinvarður Þorvaldsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-4. Ásgeir Snæfinnsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Elgur Kjörvogi's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
