Kristberg Svangeirsson started the match with the kick off. In the 4thth minute of the game Rólant Styrmisson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fylgd's Reynald Rafnsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Haukarnir booed when Fylgd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blævar Albertsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reynald Rafnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rólant Styrmisson in the 9th minute of play. After 11th play minutes Þóroddur Kjaransson shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Reynald Rafnsson and just under the crossbar into goal. After 14 minutes, Klængur Unnarsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fylgd and the Haukarnir players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 14 played minutes Fylgd got a freekick which was hit by Klængur Unnarsson. Jósep Fjölmundsson kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Reynald Rafnsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Þóroddur Kjaransson in the 19th minute of the match. The supporters of Fylgd booed when Haukarnir was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rólant Styrmisson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Illugi Guðnason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristberg Svangeirsson's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. Haukarnir's Rólant Styrmisson managed to work through Fylgd's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Rólant Styrmisson dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Haukarnir's Þóroddur Kjaransson got a good chance for a goal in the 30th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Þóroddur Kjaransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rólant Styrmisson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The supporters of Haukarnir booed when Fylgd was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fanngeir Skúlason didn't get a good kick on the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Þóroddur Kjaransson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Reynald Rafnsson. Fylgd's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Þóroddur Kjaransson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Baldvin Jóngeirsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Illugi Guðnason having to interfere. Klængur Unnarsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Haukarnir's zone, Kristberg Svangeirsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Illugi Guðnason came out of the goal and Kristberg Svangeirsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Rólant Styrmisson made the kick off in the second half. Þóroddur Kjaransson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Reynald Rafnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Reynald Rafnsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Rólant Styrmisson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 54 minute of play. Þóroddur Kjaransson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Reynald Rafnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 62nd match minute, Haukarnir was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eðvar Traustason to maneuver through the defense. Klængur Unnarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Illugi Guðnason having to interfere. After 70 minutes, Þóroddur Kjaransson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Haukarnir and the Fylgd players grew even worse after the yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kristberg Svangeirsson in the 73rd minute of play forced Haukarnir's goalkeeper Illugi Guðnason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Haukarnir's Gretar Goðmundsson got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Rólant Styrmisson in the 78thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Reynald Rafnsson, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. If Rólant Styrmisson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Þóroddur Kjaransson struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Reynald Rafnsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Haukarnir. Þóroddur Kjaransson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 93 minutes into the match, Fylgd's goal looked a bit too open when Rólant Styrmisson came free, but Reynald Rafnsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Þóroddur Kjaransson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kristberg Svangeirsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Illugi Guðnason tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Haukarnir's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
