Hallmann Steinsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sandel Ásmundsson in the 5th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Konstantínus Ásvaldsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. FENERBAHÇE FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Konstantínus Ásvaldsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Hallmann Steinsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sandel Ásmundsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hallmann Steinsson having to interfere. FENERBAHÇE FC's Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save FENERBAHÇE FC from getting a goal against them. In the 16thth minute of the game Bóas Ásbjörnsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FENERBAHÇE FC's Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 20 played minutes FENERBAHÇE FC got a freekick which was hit by Dagmann Fannarsson. Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bóas Ásbjörnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Sandel Ásmundsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hallmann Steinsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. In the 28th minute, Hleiðar Aðalmundsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. FENERBAHÇE FC's Oddleifur Unnsteinsson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sprakki Flatey. Oddleifur Unnsteinsson was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 31st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Freysteinn Skaptason fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson having to interfere. In the 45th match minute, FENERBAHÇE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dagmann Fannarsson to maneuver through the defense.

After having played for 52 minutes, Sandel Ásmundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FENERBAHÇE FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sandel Ásmundsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eymundur Vilhjálmsson charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eymundur Vilhjálmsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to FENERBAHÇE FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Eymundur Vilhjálmsson hit a great ball. In the 58th match minute, FENERBAHÇE FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oddleifur Unnsteinsson to maneuver through the defense. After 59 played minutes, Sprakki Flatey's Hárlaugur Sveinsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sprakki Flatey reached it. 63 minutes into the match, Sprakki Flatey's goal looked a bit too open when Eymundur Vilhjálmsson came free, but Hallmann Steinsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sprakki Flatey's zone, Sandel Ásmundsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hallmann Steinsson came out of the goal and Sandel Ásmundsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bóas Ásbjörnsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to FENERBAHÇE FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Gretar Erlendsson hit a great ball. Freysteinn Skaptason struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sprakki Flatey. Bóas Ásbjörnsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. If Bóas Ásbjörnsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 85 minutes into the match, Bóas Ásbjörnsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson. FENERBAHÇE FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bóas Ásbjörnsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. After some careless play in the FENERBAHÇE FC defense, Freysteinn Skaptason kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson. The FENERBAHÇE FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Guðbjartur Dagbjartsson should have stopped the shot. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Sprakki Flatey fans cheered their team off the field, for while FENERBAHÇE FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
