Franz Ráðgeirsson started the match with the kick off. In the 5th minute Sólimann Björgólfsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Númi Siggeirsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Franz Ráðgeirsson in the 7th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ingberg Hrolleifsson saved Glitra Húsavík from getting behind. Unnbjörn Játvarðarson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Númi Siggeirsson having to interfere. Glitra Húsavík's Sólimann Björgólfsson got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ingberg Hrolleifsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Franz Ráðgeirsson in the 22nd minute of play. Kristmundur Benjamínsson scored 0-1 in the 32nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Númi Siggeirsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Heiðmundur Sæmundsson kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. After 38 played minutes, Draupnir Garði's Tjörfi Vagnsson shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ingberg Hrolleifsson came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Draupnir Garði reached it. Númi Siggeirsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daríus Fjalarsson's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. Númi Siggeirsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sólimann Björgólfsson in the 45th minute of the match. If Daríus Fjalarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Sólimann Björgólfsson was the one to do the kick off. If Ingþór Játvarðarson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ingberg Hrolleifsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ingþór Játvarðarson went, in the 53rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Friðjón Logason during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Númi Siggeirsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Unnbjörn Játvarðarson in the 60th minute of the match. Ingþór Játvarðarson hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Glitra Húsavík's Sólimann Björgólfsson got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Draupnir Garði's Geirmundur Elmarsson got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 72nd minute, Unnbjörn Játvarðarson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute, Franz Ráðgeirsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ingberg Hrolleifsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Glitra Húsavík's Unnbjörn Játvarðarson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 78th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Númi Siggeirsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Sólimann Björgólfsson's shot from short distance in the 81st minute. Línberg Erlingsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Númi Siggeirsson made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daríus Fjalarsson in the 84th minute. Kristmundur Benjamínsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Númi Siggeirsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sólimann Björgólfsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sólimann Björgólfsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Númi Siggeirsson having to interfere. Ingberg Hrolleifsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Friðjón Logason in the 95th minute of the match. Despite being the better team, Glitra Húsavík failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
