After a defensive mix-up in Barça FC's zone, Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson came out of the goal and Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Barça FC's Hálfdan Alfreðsson got a free kick in the 5th minute. 8 minutes into the match, Feró Djúpivogi's Haki Fjalarsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson in the 10th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson in the 13th minute of play forced Barça FC's goalkeeper Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Barça FC defense, Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson. The Barça FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson should have stopped the shot. In the 21st minute Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kópur Ingvarsson came free in the 24th minute and tried to tip the ball over Vilberg Guðnason, but to the joy of Feró Djúpivogi's supporters the ball hit the crossbar and out. After having played for 26 minutes, Kópur Ingvarsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barça FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kópur Ingvarsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 29 played minutes Feró Djúpivogi got a freekick which was hit by Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson. Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Haki Fjalarsson in the 31st minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Feró Djúpivogi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. If Bent Andrason had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 38 minutes into the game, Kópur Ingvarsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Barça FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Feró Djúpivogi the free kick. A collision led to Barça FC getting a freekick after 38 minutes play. Kópur Ingvarsson hit a great ball. 43 minutes into the match, Barça FC's goal looked a bit too open when Haki Fjalarsson came free, but Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Barça FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Feró Djúpivogi:s goal.

Kópur Ingvarsson came free in the 57th minute and tried to tip the ball over Vilberg Guðnason, but to the joy of Feró Djúpivogi's supporters the ball went over. Vilberg Guðnason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hálfdan Alfreðsson in the 67th minute of play. Hendrik Ómarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Feró Djúpivogi's zone, Bent Andrason stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vilberg Guðnason came out of the goal and Bent Andrason tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Þorgnýr Guðfinnsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kolgrímur Sveinbjörnsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. Barça FC's attentive Hallmar Davíðsson managed to snatch the ball when Júlíus Valgarðsson made a throw-in in the 87th minute of the game. If Sólbergur Hásteinsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bent Andrason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bent Andrason scored 1-4 in the 93rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Vilberg Guðnason, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 101 minutes, Hallmar Davíðsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Barça FC and the Feró Djúpivogi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Hallmar Davíðsson hit a great freekick 101 minutes into the match. Feró Djúpivogi's Brimi Nikulásarson couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 102nd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Barça FC.
