Hamar Olgeirsson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 13thth minute tested the skills of Geisli Magnþórsson when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Franz Þórðarson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flex Garði's supporters rose to their feet, but Franz Þórðarson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Engilbjartur Fannarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Loftur Arndórsson fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Flex Garði's protests and gave Loftur Arndórsson a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Loftur Arndórsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Valur Hrísey booed when Flex Garði was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vörður Edgarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. 26 minutes into the match, Flex Garði's goal looked a bit too open when Stefnir Darrason came free, but Geisli Magnþórsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sófus Týrsson tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Engilbjartur Fannarsson. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 29th minute. A collision led to Flex Garði getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Franz Þórðarson hit a great ball. In the 35th minute, Flex Garði's Baldur Gautsson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Baldur Gautsson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Flex Garði protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Baldur Gautsson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 35 minutes into the game, one of Flex Garði:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Valbergur Marvinsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Haddur Guðmarsson hit a great freekick 51 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Grímar Indriðason managed to get in a good position for a shot. Flex Garði's supporters rose to their feet, but Grímar Indriðason was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Engilbjartur Fannarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Loftur Arndórsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Reinar Borgþórsson in the 67th minute of play forced Valur Hrísey's goalkeeper Engilbjartur Fannarsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hamar Olgeirsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Geisli Magnþórsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hamar Olgeirsson ran back to his position shaking his head. The audience was convinced that Reinar Borgþórsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Engilbjartur Fannarsson was relentless in the 81st minute of the game. After 82 played minutes Valur Hrísey got a freekick which was hit by Árbjartur Dagþórsson. Engilbjartur Fannarsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Loftur Arndórsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 93 minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Flex Garði left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Valur Hrísey.
