Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 36th minute, Aðalborgar Björgvinsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hörður Kópavogi's Ingimagn Guðþórsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson in the 41st minute of play. The Mímir Bæ fans' excitement grew in the 46th match minute when Mímir Bæ's Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Kristfinnur Snæsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hreggviður Pétursson in the 69th minute of the match. With a little luck, Mímir Bæ's Kristfinnur Snæsson got control of the ball when Skorri Kjaransson tried to sneak it across the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Hörður Kópavogi's goal looked a bit too open when Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson came free, but Ingimagn Guðþórsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ingimagn Guðþórsson. Hörður Kópavogi's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. It was joyful for the audience to see Hreiðmar Sigþórsson dribbling past the opponents defense line in the 83rd played minute and put the ball into the net. 3-2. After 86th play minutes Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson shot 4-2, a short shot which went by Ingimagn Guðþórsson and just under the crossbar into goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson in the 91st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ingimagn Guðþórsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 93 minutes into the game, Mímir Bæ's Björgólfur Hallbjörnsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ingimagn Guðþórsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-2.
