Rútur Theódórsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Greind Flúðum getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Goðmundur Bollason hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the match, Greind Flúðum's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Birkisson came free, but Rútur Theódórsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tjörfi Vilmarsson made a fantastic save in the 33rd minute, when Hólm Grímsson sent off a good shot on target. Greind Flúðum's Rútur Theódórsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hljómur Ormarsson in the 35th minute of play. Rútur Theódórsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hugo Birkisson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute Kolfinnur Bogason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rútur Theódórsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Globus Selfossi were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Arndór Guðþórsson made a kick off. 58 minutes into the game, Sigríkur Hilmirsson recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rútur Theódórsson. Sigríkur Hilmirsson showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-3. Greind Flúðum's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Hugo Birkisson 67 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-4. Tjörfi Vilmarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arndór Guðþórsson in the 71st minute of play. After a rather tough play, Greind Flúðum's Goðmundur Bollason got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 73rd minute, Greind Flúðum's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kolfinnur Bogason fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Greind Flúðum's zone, Hugo Birkisson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rútur Theódórsson came out of the goal and Hugo Birkisson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Greind Flúðum's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Hugo Birkisson scored to the left of an out of position Rútur Theódórsson, making the score, 0-5. Greind Flúðum's defense didn't have a chance, in the 93rd minute, when Hljómur Ormarsson scored to the left of an out of position Rútur Theódórsson, making the score, 0-6. When the final whistle sounded Globus Selfossi left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Greind Flúðum.
