Akkur Húsavík's Freysteinn Jökulsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 3rd minute of the match, managed to save Akkur Húsavík from getting a goal against them. 4 minutes into the match, Akkur Húsavík's goalkeeper Freysteinn Jökulsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hólm Grímsson. After a rather tough play, Akkur Húsavík's Vernharð Nikulásarson got a free kick in the 5th minute. Rafnar Hrútsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 10thth minute of the game Rafnar Hrútsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Greind Flúðum's Rútur Theódórsson was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rafnar Hrútsson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rútur Theódórsson read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Hólm Grímsson scored 1-0 in the 15th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Freysteinn Jökulsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Arndór Guðþórsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Freysteinn Jökulsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 24 minutes into the match, Akkur Húsavík's goalkeeper Freysteinn Jökulsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hólm Grímsson. The referee felt a red card was in order, 27 minutes into the game, when Kristvarður Þorvaldsson put in a rough tackle. In the 26th minute, one of Akkur Húsavík:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Akkur Húsavík. Marteinn Böðvarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rútur Theódórsson having to interfere. Arndór Guðþórsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Arndór Guðþórsson might have been able to make a better finish in the 38th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Freysteinn Jökulsson. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Arndór Guðþórsson ran back to his position shaking his head. Sigbert Hjörvarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rútur Theódórsson having to interfere. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Marteinn Böðvarsson made the kick off in the second half. Freysteinn Jökulsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hólm Grímsson in the 53rd minute of the match. A collision led to Greind Flúðum getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Krummi Hinriksson hit a great ball. In the 70th minute the ball was on its way in behind Akkur Húsavík's goalkeeper Freysteinn Jökulsson, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Marteinn Böðvarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bryntýr Þrándsson hit a great freekick 76 minutes into the match. Hólm Grímsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Freysteinn Jökulsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Hólm Grímsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Freysteinn Jökulsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hólm Grímsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Freysteinn Jökulsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hólm Grímsson in the 94th minute of the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Greind Flúðum fans cheered their team off the field, for while Akkur Húsavík had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
