When Ingibergur Hjálmtýsson came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Stjarnan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ingibergur Hjálmtýsson couldn't finish the play. Meyvant Jóhannesson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geirólfur Jósefsson went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Kotið Kópavogi's Meyvant Jóhannesson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geirólfur Jósefsson in the 74th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Ásgeir Gunnsteinsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Yngvi Ásgrímsson, 1-1. 83 minutes into the match, Stjarnan's goalkeeper Yngvi Ásgrímsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ymir Maríusarson. When Kotið Kópavogi's Ymir Maríusarson in 91 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Yngvi Ásgrímsson guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Ingibergur Hjálmtýsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Meyvant Jóhannesson having to interfere. The long shot by Kristvaldur Svavarsson in the 95th minute really tested Yngvi Ásgrímsson's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 96th match minute, Stjarnan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geirólfur Jósefsson to maneuver through the defense. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
