In the 11th minute Sigurbjarni Loftsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Yngvi Ásgrímsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Sigurbjarni Loftsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uppfylling's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigurbjarni Loftsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngvi Ásgrímsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Demus Gunnlaugsson fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uppfylling's protests and gave Demus Gunnlaugsson a yellow card for diving instead. After recieving a nice pass, Stjarnan's Oddgeir Gunnsteinsson tried to score from far away in the 23rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Valbrandur Jökulsson charged in rather forcefully in the 25th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valbrandur Jökulsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 25th minute, Valbrandur Jökulsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Sigurbjarni Loftsson came up free with the goalie in the 28th minute, the Uppfylling fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sigurbjarni Loftsson couldn't finish the play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sigurbjarni Loftsson in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Yngvi Ásgrímsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Sigurbjarni Loftsson sped through Stjarnan's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Yngvi Ásgrímsson. Sigurbjarni Loftsson scored 0-2 in the 39th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Yngvi Ásgrímsson, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Bjarnleifur Arnaldsson fell near the penalty area in the 42nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Uppfylling's protests and gave Bjarnleifur Arnaldsson a yellow card for diving instead. After 42 played minutes Uppfylling got a freekick which was hit by Bjarnleifur Arnaldsson. Ómi Kjartansson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Geirólfur Jósefsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 45 minute of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sigurbjarni Loftsson to strike the kick off in the second half. 58 minutes into the game, Bjarnleifur Arnaldsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-4. Yngvi Ásgrímsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ómi Kjartansson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geirólfur Jósefsson in the 62nd minute of play. Sigurbjarni Loftsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Yngvi Ásgrímsson having to interfere. Klemenz Bragason kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. A collision led to Stjarnan getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Ingibergur Hjálmtýsson hit a great ball. When Herfinnur Baldvinsson fell near the penalty area in the 68th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Stjarnan's protests and gave Herfinnur Baldvinsson a yellow card for diving instead. Sigurbjarni Loftsson received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Yngvi Ásgrímsson came out and tried to block the shot, but Sigurbjarni Loftsson slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 70th minute. Sigurbjarni Loftsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Stjarnan got a freekick which was hit by Oddgeir Gunnsteinsson. The crowd rose to their feet as Uppfylling's Sigurbjarni Loftsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Yngvi Ásgrímsson. That made the score 1-6 after 75 minutes of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Sigurbjarni Loftsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uppfylling's supporters rose to their feet, but Sigurbjarni Loftsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Yngvi Ásgrímsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bjarnleifur Arnaldsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Sigurbjarni Loftsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 88th minute, Jósúa Ásmundarson fired a really elegant long shot, but Yngvi Ásgrímsson threw himself and managed to get hold of the ball just in front of the right post. Yngvi Ásgrímsson made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Sigurbjarni Loftsson sent off a good shot on target. The Stjarnan fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Uppfylling were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
