Skarp Bæ's Víkingur Rafnkelsson got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Flóki Þorleifsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Einvarður Svanbergsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Víkingur Rafnkelsson in the 13th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Habo Sandgerði's goal looked a bit too open when Víkingur Rafnkelsson came free, but Einvarður Svanbergsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brynþór Ingólfsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexíus Júlíansson in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Habo Sandgerði's goal looked a bit too open when Víkingur Rafnkelsson came free, but Einvarður Svanbergsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Víkingur Rafnkelsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 23 minutes into the match, Flóki Þorleifsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Einvarður Svanbergsson. Habo Sandgerði's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Flóki Þorleifsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Skarp Bæ's Brynþór Ingólfsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Skarp Bæ from getting a goal against them. Alexíus Júlíansson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 32nd minute, Lýður Hænsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 37th minute Alexíus Júlíansson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brynþór Ingólfsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Alexíus Júlíansson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brynþór Ingólfsson was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alexíus Júlíansson to make the kick off. Alexíus Júlíansson struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Brynþór Ingólfsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Habo Sandgerði. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Víkingur Rafnkelsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Skarp Bæ's supporters rose to their feet, but Víkingur Rafnkelsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Einvarður Svanbergsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Habo Sandgerði's zone, Víkingur Rafnkelsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Einvarður Svanbergsson came out of the goal and Víkingur Rafnkelsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 75 minutes, Víkingur Rafnkelsson made it 1-4 with a short kick to the right side. Habo Sandgerði's Einvarður Svanbergsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 85 minutes, Víkingur Rafnkelsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Skarp Bæ's supporters crossed their fingers, but Víkingur Rafnkelsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. A collision led to Habo Sandgerði getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Hildingur Sólbergsson hit a great ball. Einvarður Svanbergsson made a fantastic save in the 88th minute, when Flóki Þorleifsson sent off a good shot on target. In the 91st minute, Sólbjörn Másson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brynþór Ingólfsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-4. Skarp Bæ played a much better game than Habo Sandgerði and deserved their victory. The Habo Sandgerði players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
