Spectators: 7000 (Terracing: 5200, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dagfinnur Eiðsson got the match started through his kick off. Rúrik Hermansson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ingimagn Rafnkelsson having to make a save. Ingimagn Rafnkelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagfinnur Eiðsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. 11 minutes into the match, River Plate Reykjavik's Þiðrik Dalmarsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Svanhólm Þrándsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Hervarður Eymundsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. River Plate Reykjavik's supporters rose to their feet, but Hervarður Eymundsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Svanhólm Þrándsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. River Plate Reykjavik's Ingimagn Rafnkelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dagfinnur Eiðsson in the 31st minute of play. Úlfar Aronsson took the ball and in the 34 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Svanhólm Þrándsson. Svanhólm Þrándsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Nexus Dalvík's Svanhólm Þrándsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Þiðrik Dalmarsson in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute Hervarður Eymundsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Svanhólm Þrándsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 40 minutes, Sophus Björgvinsson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. River Plate Reykjavik's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sophus Björgvinsson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 41st minute, Úlfar Aronsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The River Plate Reykjavik fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 46 minutes into the match, River Plate Reykjavik's Hervarður Eymundsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Svanhólm Þrándsson narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Svanhólm Þrándsson came out of the goal in the 47th minute to try and stop a shot by River Plate Reykjavik's Þiðrik Dalmarsson. But to his dismay, Þiðrik Dalmarsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

55 minutes into the game, River Plate Reykjavik's Sophus Björgvinsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Svanhólm Þrándsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. The audience was convinced that Úlfar Aronsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Svanhólm Þrándsson was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Svanhólm Þrándsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sophus Björgvinsson in the 59th minute of play. Þiðrik Dalmarsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. In the 67th minute, Stormur Þráinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Hervarður Eymundsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Þiðrik Dalmarsson took a quick shot and it went in 0-8 without a chance for Svanhólm Þrándsson to make any attempt to save it. Nexus Dalvík's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave River Plate Reykjavik the free kick. A collision led to Nexus Dalvík getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Hallvarður Unnarsson hit a great ball. River Plate Reykjavik's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 97th minute of the game, when Hervarður Eymundsson after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Nexus Dalvík's goal. Hervarður Eymundsson was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. River Plate Reykjavik's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
