Steinröður Hansson started the match with the kick off. After 2 minutes, Játgeir Jóngeirsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sztorm Keflavik FC and the Njarðvík Vopnafirði players grew even worse after the yellow card. Játgeir Jóngeirsson hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 4thth minute of the game Svanur Oddbergsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sztorm Keflavik FC's Steinn Bjarmason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Kaprasíus Randversson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Heiðrekur Vilmarsson in the 5th minute of play. Steinn Bjarmason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rögnvaldur Vagnsson in the 12th minute of play. 14 minutes into the match, Goði Línbergsson notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Sztorm Keflavik FC's Steinn Bjarmason. Steinn Bjarmason was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 22 minutes into the game, Reginbaldur Kristbergsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Steinn Bjarmason was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steinn Bjarmason didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Reginbaldur Kristbergsson went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-3 was the resulting score. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rögnvaldur Vagnsson in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Steinn Bjarmason saved Sztorm Keflavik FC from getting behind. Steinn Bjarmason showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Svanur Oddbergsson in the 29th minute of the match. In the 31stth minute of the game Svanur Oddbergsson who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sztorm Keflavik FC's Steinn Bjarmason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Sztorm Keflavik FC's goal looked a bit too open when Reginbaldur Kristbergsson came free, but Steinn Bjarmason reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Svanur Oddbergsson in the 34th minute of play forced Sztorm Keflavik FC's goalkeeper Steinn Bjarmason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th match minute, Sztorm Keflavik FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heiðrekur Vilmarsson to maneuver through the defense. When Borgþór Georgsson fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sztorm Keflavik FC's protests and gave Borgþór Georgsson a yellow card for diving instead. Halldór Kristófersson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After 42 minutes of play, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Svanur Oddbergsson made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Steinn Bjarmason was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match clock showed 45 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Rögnvaldur Vagnsson sped through Sztorm Keflavik FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Steinn Bjarmason. Disappointed in the 1-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Svanur Oddbergsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Sztorm Keflavik FC's goalkeeper Steinn Bjarmason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Reginbaldur Kristbergsson. Borgþór Georgsson kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Svanur Oddbergsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Steinn Bjarmason. That made the score 1-6 in the 55 minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, Svanur Oddbergsson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Steinn Bjarmason, 1-7. After a rather tough play, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Rögnvaldur Vagnsson got a free kick in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the match, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's goal looked a bit too open when Heiðrekur Vilmarsson came free, but Kaprasíus Randversson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Þorbjörn Guðjónsson kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. Steinn Bjarmason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svanur Oddbergsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. In the 78th minute, Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Gýgjar Margeirsson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Steinn Bjarmason. Steinn Bjarmason yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-8. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rögnvaldur Vagnsson got free with Steinn Bjarmason in the 82nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Svanur Oddbergsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's supporters rose to their feet, but Svanur Oddbergsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Steinn Bjarmason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Steinn Bjarmason made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rögnvaldur Vagnsson in the 91st minute. After a rather tough play, Sztorm Keflavik FC's Borgþór Georgsson got a free kick in the 92nd minute. In the 93rd minute of the match Halldór Kristófersson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Steinn Bjarmason showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Njarðvík Vopnafirði played a much better game than Sztorm Keflavik FC and deserved their victory. The Sztorm Keflavik FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
