Sigursveinn Theódórsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Játgeir Vignisson went, in the 11th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. With his leg Sigursveinn Theódórsson managed to avoid a goal in the 15thth minute, when Njarðvík Vopnafirði's Svanur Oddbergsson fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a rather tough play, Stonf's Róbert Þórarinsson got a free kick in the 16th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rögnvaldur Vagnsson in the 18th minute of play forced Stonf's goalkeeper Sigursveinn Theódórsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Játgeir Vignisson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sigursveinn Theódórsson having to interfere. In the 23rd match minute, Stonf was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Róbert Þórarinsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 35th minute, Játgeir Vignisson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Svanur Oddbergsson stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Játgeir Vignisson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's supporters rose to their feet, but Játgeir Vignisson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sigursveinn Theódórsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ásgrímur Fannarsson charged in rather forcefully in the 57th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ásgrímur Fannarsson the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Stonf getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Ásgrímur Fannarsson hit a great ball. 59 minutes into the match, Svanur Oddbergsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sigursveinn Theódórsson. Stonf's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Svanur Oddbergsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-0. In the 64th minute, Svanur Oddbergsson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Sigursveinn Theódórsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 6-0. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Svanur Oddbergsson in the 73rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sigursveinn Theódórsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Sigursveinn Theódórsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Svanur Oddbergsson went, in the 75th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. The audience was convinced that Svanur Oddbergsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Sigursveinn Theódórsson was relentless in the 79th minute of the game. Sigursveinn Theódórsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Svanur Oddbergsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 82 played minutes Stonf got a freekick which was hit by Ísólfur Sigmundsson. Svanur Oddbergsson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sigursveinn Theódórsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svanur Oddbergsson in the 87th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Svanur Oddbergsson in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Sigursveinn Theódórsson saved Stonf from getting behind. 93 minutes into the game, Gautur Guðbergsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Njarðvík Vopnafirði's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Stonf the free kick. The supporters of Stonf booed when Njarðvík Vopnafirði was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gautur Guðbergsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Njarðvík Vopnafirði walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
