The supporters of Soldis Hrísey booed when Grágás Vík was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guttormur Reimarsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 11 minutes, Vernharð Magnússon made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Soldis Hrísey's Baltasar Hróason tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vernharð Magnússon in the 15th minute of play forced Soldis Hrísey's goalkeeper Baltasar Hróason to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Urðar Ingmarsson's late challenge caught a Soldis Hrísey's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Urðar Ingmarsson helped the player get up and apologised. In the 23rd match minute, Grágás Vík was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Urðar Ingmarsson to maneuver through the defense. Jeraldo Cameno guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. In the 40thth minute of the game Vernharð Magnússon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Soldis Hrísey's Baltasar Hróason was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vífill Eiríksson during the 41st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Soldis Hrísey getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Vífill Eiríksson hit a great ball. Jeraldo Cameno made a fantastic save in the 46th minute, when Loki Fannarsson sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sölvar Garpsson during the 48th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After the first half Grágás Vík were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vernharð Magnússon to make the kick off. Vífill Eiríksson scored 1-1 in the 55th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeraldo Cameno, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Bjarnlaugur Ólason's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jeraldo Cameno read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. A collision led to Grágás Vík getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Þór Orrason hit a great ball. Bjarnlaugur Ólason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Jeraldo Cameno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Baltasar Hróason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingberg Boðason, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Játgeir Jósefsson kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 72nd minute of the match Háleygur Harðarsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Baltasar Hróason skillfully saved the ball. In the 75th match minute, Soldis Hrísey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vífill Eiríksson to maneuver through the defense. Jeraldo Cameno showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hrafn Sindrason, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After 81 played minutes Soldis Hrísey got a freekick which was hit by Vífill Eiríksson. Vernharð Magnússon could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Baltasar Hróason made a huge save. When Guttormur Reimarsson came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Grágás Vík fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guttormur Reimarsson couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 86 minutes, Vernharð Magnússon put it in 1-2 from a short distance just to the right of Baltasar Hróason. In the 90th minute Bjarnlaugur Ólason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeraldo Cameno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Soldis Hrísey's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Vernharð Magnússon 92 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-3. In the 97th minute, Guttormur Reimarsson made a precise shot to the right of Baltasar Hróason. Soldis Hrísey's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-4. The Grágás Vík supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Grágás Vík would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
