After 12 played minutes Reikiavik. United. F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Kristinn Ingimundarson. The supporters of Manchester United booed when Reikiavik. United. F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hróaldur Bollason didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 15th minute of the match Níls Margeirsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ferdínand Grímsson showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Reikiavik. United. Ferdínand Grímsson was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Kristmundur Knútsson showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-0 in the 29 minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barri Magnússon in the 34th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ásgautur Reimarsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Manchester United's Össur Ármannsson slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Ferdínand Grímsson. That made the score 4-0 after 38 minutes of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Össur Ármannsson to make the kick off. In the 50th minute, Elínbergur Elbertsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 56th match minute, Reikiavik. United. F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jóhannes Valgeirsson to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute, Austmar Hjaltason left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Manchester United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. 65 minutes into the game, Össur Ármannsson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 6-0. Ferdínand Grímsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Rafnar Þorgerisson took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ferdínand Grímsson. Ferdínand Grímsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-0. After 78 minutes, Maron Gabríelsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Reikiavik. United. F.C. and the Manchester United players grew even worse after the yellow card. F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Össur Ármannsson came free, but Ferdínand Grímsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 85th minute, Rafnar Þorgerisson ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ferdínand Grímsson was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. Ferdínand Grímsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Össur Ármannsson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Justino Itzaina's late challenge caught a Manchester United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Justino Itzaina helped the player get up and apologised. Justino Itzaina kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After 96 minutes of play, Manchester United's Össur Ármannsson made it 10-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ferdínand Grímsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Manchester United had played much better football throughout.
