The FC Barcelona fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 18 minutes into the game, Task Mývatni's Auðbergur Gretarsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vignir Sveinsson made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. After a rather tough play, FC Barcelona's Brandur Sighvatsson got a free kick in the 22nd minute. Arnúlfur Níelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marijón Úlfarsson in the 24th minute of play. In the 25th minute of the match FC Barcelona got a corner. Task Mývatni's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Sírnir Bergþórsson ran over to the corner to take the kick. Walter Snæbjörnsson could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Vignir Sveinsson made a huge save. Vignir Sveinsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 39th minute of play. In the 40th minute Task Mývatni were awarded a corner. Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson went to the cornerflag to take it. Arnúlfur Níelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vigur Arnleifsson in the 42nd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Erling Laufarsson in the 43rd minute of play forced FC Barcelona's goalkeeper Vignir Sveinsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Vigur Arnleifsson was the one to do the kick off. The audience was convinced that Marijón Úlfarsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Arnúlfur Níelsson was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. Vignir Sveinsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Task Mývatni. Task Mývatni's Arnúlfur Níelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marijón Úlfarsson in the 82nd minute of play. Vigur Arnleifsson did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Arnúlfur Níelsson 85 minutes into the match. In the 88th minute, Vigur Arnleifsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Arnúlfur Níelsson. The goal made the score 1-3. Arnúlfur Níelsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Marijón Úlfarsson went, in the 92nd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-4 was the resulting score.
