Jan Bjarkason made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 9 minutes into the match, Pogoń Siedlce's goalkeeper Jan Bjarkason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walter Snæbjörnsson. Arnúlfur Níelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hringur Hallbjörnsson in the 14th minute of the match. Rúben Baugsson kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. After 16 played minutes Task Mývatni got a freekick which was hit by Erling Laufarsson. Jan Bjarkason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erling Laufarsson in the 18th minute of play. Task Mývatni's Arnúlfur Níelsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eymar Ernirsson in the 23rd minute of play. Vallaður Sævarsson kicked well hit freekick during the 25th minute of the match. In the 26th minute of the match Yngvi Óttarsson sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Arnúlfur Níelsson skillfully saved the ball. Jan Bjarkason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 30th minute of play. With a little luck, Pogoń Siedlce's Jan Bjarkason got control of the ball when Walter Snæbjörnsson tried to sneak it across the goal line. The corner led Task Mývatni's Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson to fire away a dangerous shot which Jan Bjarkason despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Walter Snæbjörnsson got free with Jan Bjarkason in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Auðbergur Gretarsson to make the kick off. Jan Bjarkason made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 50th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Hringur Hallbjörnsson in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arnúlfur Níelsson prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Jan Bjarkason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Arnúlfur Níelsson was a little too slow when Hringur Hallbjörnsson got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 57th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 61 minutes, Rúben Baugsson made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Task Mývatni's Arnúlfur Níelsson tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The audience was convinced that Walter Snæbjörnsson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jan Bjarkason was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by Pogoń Siedlce's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson was slow to take the kick. During this time Task Mývatni's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Erling Laufarsson managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. Geirtryggur Guðleifsson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 77 played minutes Pogoń Siedlce got a freekick which was hit by Eymar Ernirsson. 81 minutes into the game, Task Mývatni's Erling Laufarsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jan Bjarkason made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-3. 84 minutes into the match, Auðbergur Gretarsson notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Pogoń Siedlce's Jan Bjarkason. Jan Bjarkason was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Eymar Ernirsson kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. In the 91st minute, Auðbergur Gretarsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Task Mývatni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-3. Pogoń Siedlce's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
