Arnúlfur Níelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álfgeir Hannibalsson in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eldór Hreiðarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Æsir Ásgarðr getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Mjölnir Elmarsson hit a great ball. Æsir Ásgarðr's Eldór Hreiðarsson played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson in the 26th minute of play. Task Mývatni's Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 32nd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Eldór Hreiðarsson didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson went, in the 36th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álfgeir Hannibalsson in the 39th minute of play forced Task Mývatni's goalkeeper Arnúlfur Níelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Æsir Ásgarðr's goal looked a bit too open when Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson came free, but Eldór Hreiðarsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 64 played minutes Æsir Ásgarðr got a freekick which was hit by Lárus Arnleifsson. Eldór Hreiðarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 65th minute of the match. Álfgeir Hannibalsson hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The supporters of Task Mývatni booed when Æsir Ásgarðr was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kristall Guðjónsson didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 72 minutes of play, Task Mývatni's Auðbergur Gretarsson made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Eldór Hreiðarsson was left in no man's land by his defense there! Eldór Hreiðarsson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. When the referee ended the match the Task Mývatni players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
