After a defensive mix-up in Jets's zone, Walter Snæbjörnsson stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Kort Gabríelsson came out of the goal and Walter Snæbjörnsson tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 4th minute, Walter Snæbjörnsson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Kort Gabríelsson. The goal made the score 1-0. Öndólfur Freybjörnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Kort Gabríelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kort Gabríelsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Auðbergur Gretarsson left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Task Mývatni fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson got free with Kort Gabríelsson in the 22nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kort Gabríelsson came out of the goal in the 24th minute to try and stop a shot by Task Mývatni's Auðbergur Gretarsson. But to his dismay, Auðbergur Gretarsson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Task Mývatni's Auðbergur Gretarsson got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kort Gabríelsson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Auðbergur Gretarsson's shot from short distance in the 29th minute. 30 minutes in the game, Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Kort Gabríelsson having to interfere. Kort Gabríelsson was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Walter Snæbjörnsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The wind increased when Auðbergur Gretarsson made the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes into the match, Task Mývatni's goalkeeper Arnúlfur Níelsson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Grímólfur Hamarsson. If Auðbergur Gretarsson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Jets getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Miro Contratas hit a great ball. Walter Snæbjörnsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Kort Gabríelsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson made a precise shot to the right of Kort Gabríelsson. Jets's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. In the 78th minute, Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Kort Gabríelsson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Auðbergur Gretarsson, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Kort Gabríelsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Walter Snæbjörnsson in the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steinbjörn Hafsteinsson in the 83rd minute of play forced Jets's goalkeeper Kort Gabríelsson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd match minute, Jets was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sævaldur Falgeirsson to maneuver through the defense. Auðbergur Gretarsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After some fancy dribbling in the 96th minute, Walter Snæbjörnsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Task Mývatni's supporters rose to their feet, but Walter Snæbjörnsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kort Gabríelsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Auðbergur Gretarsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kort Gabríelsson having to interfere. There was no doubt that Task Mývatni were the better team. Task Mývatni's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
