Simo Mihajlov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saša Ranković in the 9th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Saša Ranković notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Žitište's Simo Mihajlov. Simo Mihajlov was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Simo Mihajlov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Saša Ranković, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 24 minutes, Mijailo Tonić managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Nova Varoš FK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mijailo Tonić was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 24 minutes of play, Nova Varoš FK's Saša Ranković made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Simo Mihajlov was left in no man's land by his defense there! Saša Ranković sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Mijailo Tonić might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Simo Mihajlov. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mijailo Tonić ran back to his position shaking his head. Stevan Tabaković's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bogosav Ognjenović read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Matija Lerinc got free with Bogosav Ognjenović in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Mijailo Tonić managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Varoš FK's supporters rose to their feet, but Mijailo Tonić was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Simo Mihajlov dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-3.
